No to Snoring: 5 Tips to Stop

No to Snoring: 5 Tips to Stop A person may have weak tones in the muscles of your tongue or throat or they may have blocked airways in their nose. These are some of the reasons why a person snores.

Snoring can be destructive to you and the people around you. It may even cause disturbance to your room mate, if ever you have one. Here are some tips for you to stop snoring:

1. Plan your meal. Eat a variety of foods from different food groups. Avoid fatty cuts of meat products, saturated fats, and foods which contains high amount of sugar. Go easy with shellfish, milk, egg yolks, nuts, breads, and homemade snacks with unsaturated oil. Eat with utmost freedom lean cuts of meat products, low-fat milk and milk products, egg whites, most breads, fresh fruits and vegetables.

2. Get enough exercise. It is best to exercise at least three times a week. You can start with brisk walking or jogging. After you have established a routine, then you can choose other types of exercise such as swimming, aerobics or cycling so you will not be bored with one form of exercise.

3. Create a habitual sleeping pattern. To some people, eight hours of sleep is sufficient. Others are well-relaxed with only six hours of sleep. Furthermore, there are individuals who can sleep with lights off and some can barely sleep with the lights on. Monitor your sleeping pattern for a week and act on what makes you feel well-rested.

4. It is best to sleep on your side. This helps normalize your breathing.

5. Avoid any forms of sedative such as sleeping pills before you retire for sleep. Additionally, consuming alcoholic beverages is also prohibited. Such things can cause blockage to air passageway causing you to snore.
